MLB The Show 26 makes it easy to play with friends across PlayStation and Xbox. Whether you want to team up in Co-Op, hit the Diamond Dynasty online, or just face off in Exhibition games, crossplay keeps everyone in the same game. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to get it working.

1. Enable System-Level Crossplay (Xbox Only)

On Xbox, you need to allow cross-network play in your console settings before it works in MLB The Show 26.

Press the Xbox button on your controller.
Go to Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety.
Select Xbox Privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer.
Make sure “You can join cross-network play” is set to Allowed.

PS5 players don’t need to do this step—the system allows crossplay by default.

2. Turn On Crossplay In-Game

Once your console is set up, enable crossplay inside MLB The Show 26:

From the Main Menu, go to your Universal Profile.
Open Settings > Online Settings.
Toggle Crossplay to On.

Now your game can match you with friends or opponents on any console.

3. Link Your MLB The Show Account (Optional but Recommended)

Linking your accounts helps track progress, stats, and inventory across consoles:

and create or log into your account.
Click the Sign-in button for your console (Xbox or PlayStation) and follow the instructions to link.
In-game, go to your profile, select Link Account, and enter the code from the website.

Linked accounts are optional, but they make it easier if you switch consoles or want shared progress.

4. Add and Play with Friends Across Consoles

To play with a friend on a different console, use MLB The Show’s internal friends system:

Search: From your profile, open the Friends menu, then select Requests. Enter your friend’s MLB The Show username (or their Gamertag/PSN ID).
Invite: Once they accept, select their name in your friends list and choose Invite to Exhibition or another online mode like Co-Op.
Accepting Invites: Crossplay invites appear in the Game Challenges section of the profile menu, not as standard console notifications. Make sure your friend checks there.
